What Happens When You Import the Same Listing Twice

TL;DR

PropWise automatically detects duplicates and won’t create the same listing twice.

What this is

PropWise has built-in duplicate detection.

If you try to import a property listing that already exists in your workspace, the platform recognizes it and prevents duplication by not importing the listing.

Instead of creating a second copy, PropWise links to the existing listing.

Result: one clean source of truth per property.

When to use this

This behavior matters most when you:

  • Import listings from the same portal URL more than once
  • Collaborate in teams where multiple agents may import the same property

In short: anytime overlap is likely.

How this affects other features

  • Portfolios: The same listing can safely live in multiple portfolios without duplication.
  • Notes & documents: Everything stays attached to the single listing record.
  • Updates: Any edits to the listing are reflected everywhere it’s used.
  • AI features: Analysis, summaries, and red flags stay consistent and up to date.

This keeps data clean and prevents version drift.

Common misunderstandings

  • “Importing again will overwrite my data.”

→ No. Existing data stays intact.

  • “I’ll get two copies if I paste the same link twice.”

→ You won’t. PropWise blocks duplicates automatically.

  • “I need to recreate a listing for a new buyer.”

→ You don’t. Reuse the same listing across portfolios.
